Chronometric Vault

The Blackthorne & Weede Chronometric Vault · Ironhaven Works, Yorkshire — 1876

An arched cabinet of riveted iron-dark panels, pressure gauges, exposed pipe valves, and a ship's helm wheel — all surrounding a cream Roman-numeral dial. A door opens to the mechanism. A brass nameplate anchors the base. This piece carries the atmosphere of a Victorian engine room; dark, purposeful, quietly extraordinary.

Handcrafted from layered laser-cut MDF. Dark oxidised multi-tone finish applied by hand. Working quartz clock mechanism included.

The Timekeeper

A bicycle chain forms the entire outer frame. Interlocking gears anchor the base. A small top-hatted silhouette stands to one side — as if he wound it himself and has been watching it ever since. The cream Roman-numeral dial floats within this mechanical embrace, giving the piece an unexpectedly poetic quality beneath all its industry.

Raised on a slatted wooden platform with splayed legs. Handcrafted from layered laser-cut MDF with a warm aged-iron finish. Working quartz clock mechanism included.

Exposed pipes loop around a bold Roman-numeral face. Pressure gauges flank both sides. Interlocking gears anchor the base. The whole assembly mounts on a solid plinth bearing its brass patent plate with quiet authority. If a Victorian inventor had a study, this would be on his desk — grand in presence, precise in every detail.
